HOW TO MAKE THE AIR FRYER TACO CASSEROLE
- Preheat the air fryer.
- Prepare a 8X8 foil pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet at medium-high heat. Break up the pieces as you fry it. When there is no pink left, drain off as much fat as you can.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, onion powder, and salsa. Allow this mixture to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cream cheese until it is fully combined.
- Spread this mixture into the foil pan.
- Spread the corn chips evenly over the top and then sprinkle on the cheese.
- Place the pan of taco casserole into the air fryer and allow it to bake for 8-10 minutes at 300 degrees fahrenheit or until the cheese is bubbly.
- When you remove the casserole from the air fryer, top with chopped tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream.
HELPFUL NOTES:
- Unbelievably good – and so easy to make!!
- *If using a 5.8 QT air fryer, you will need to turn up the edges of the foil pan for it to fit properly in the basket. But if you are using a 6 or 6.8 QT, an 8X8 foil pan will fit just fine.
- Tortilla chips can make for an excellent substitution for the corn chips in the recipe.
- You could substitute a mexican blend cheese or even pepper jack cheese for some or all of the recommended cheese, and stir a little hot sauce into the ground beef mixture. You could also top it with jalapeno peppers just before serving.
- Don’t have ground beef? You could use ground turkey instead.
STORAGE AND REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Leftovers should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container. They will last up to 4 days.
