How to Make “RECIPE” in the Air Fryer

  1. Place 1 Tablespoon of butter into a foil, metal, or glass pan that fits into your basket in the air fryer. Heat this at 300 degrees for 2 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the 3 eggs, 3 Tablespoons of milk, ½ teaspoon salt, and a pinch of pepper. Cook this at 325 degrees for 6 minutes. Stir the egg mixture slightly with a spatula. If you are going to add cheese, do it now.
  3. Bake for another 3-5 minutes at 325 degrees. Scramble up the eggs and serve immediately.

Helpful Notes:

  • Because every air fryer is different, I recommend that the first time you make these, you cook them in 3-minute increments, stirring at each interval, making sure you don’t overcook them.
  • Adding too much pepper to your eggs (no matter how you cook them) can cause them to blacken or give them a brown hue. If you like plenty of pepper, wait till the end to add more!
  • If you don’t want to use butter, you can use olive oil instead or spray your basket with cooking spray. You do need to add something, though, because your eggs will stick, otherwise.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:

If you want, you can absolutely store your leftover scrambled eggs or make them ahead. Here’s how.

IN THE FRIDGE: Store your eggs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Make sure they’ve cooled off before you put the lid on the container, or your eggs will be too wet.

IN THE FREEZER: Store scrambled eggs in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 4 months. Allow them to fully thaw in the fridge before reheating.

REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS: To reheat your scrambled eggs, place them back in the air fryer at 250 for about 10 minutes. Check them every few minutes until they’re heated through. You can also microwave them in 30 second intervals.

FAQS

My scrambled eggs are runny. What went wrong? Can I fix runny eggs?

Every air fryer is a little different. It’s possible your eggs are either overcooked or undercooked. If the liquid has a yellow or whitish hue, I would recommend cooking the runny eggs for another 2 minutes. If the eggs have a watery appearance, you may have overcooked them. Next time, check on them every 3 minutes to make sure they don’t stay in the heat too long.

How do I make a single serving of scrambled eggs?

If the scrambled egg recipe makes too much, you can always save the leftovers for tomorrow. But if you want to simply cook less eggs, you can do that too! Keep the butter or oil amount the same, then whisk together 1 egg mixed with 1 Tablespoon of milk or 2 eggs mixed with 2 Tablespoons of milk.  Adjust the salt and pepper to taste. Fewer eggs will cook more quickly, so reduce your cooking time and keep a close eye on them.

What kind of cheese is good in scrambled eggs?

We love cheddar in our eggs, but other favorites are mozzarella or Mexican blend for a bit of spiciness. I don’t think you can go wrong with cheese! Toss in a few Tablespoons of whatever kind you like best!

What else can I add to my scrambled eggs?

You can add almost any pre-cooked meat or vegetable to your scrambled eggs to make something like an omelet. Crumbled bacon or ham taste delicious. Bell peppers, mushrooms, or red or white onions are popular veggie additions. Just make sure you pan fry them for a few minutes before adding them to the air fryer. Add when you add your cheese.
