How to Make Pork Roast in the Air Fryer
- Rub the pork roast with 1 tsp of salt, ½ tsp of pepper, ½ tsp of garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of Montreal Steak Seasoning. Make sure to cover all sides.
- Make a large foil pouch inside your air fryer and place the seasoned roast inside it. Pour the broth into the foil pan with the roast.
- Set the air fryer to cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. While this is cooking, prepare the potatoes and carrots.
- Slice the baby carrots and baby potatoes into halves. Place them in a large bowl. Sprinkle on the 2 Tablespoon olive oil, ½ teaspoon seasoning salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper. Toss this all together well.
- When the first cook time is over for the pork roast, open the air fryer and flip the roast over.
- Add the vegetables all around it.
- Put the basket back into the air fryer, set the temperature for 350 degrees and cook for another 35 minutes.
- Check the temperature of the meat. It is safe to eat at 145 degrees. If it is not at this temperature, return it to the air fryer, cooking for 5 minutes at time at 350 degrees.
- Check the tenderness of the vegetables. If the roast is cooked but the vegetables are not, remove the roast and place it on a cutting board, covering it with tin foil and allow it to rest. (We want it to rest for at least 10 minutes before cutting it.)
- Continue to cook the vegetables at 5 minute intervals (at 350 degrees) until they are the desired tenderness.
Helpful Notes:
- When the roast is fully cooked, remove it from the air fryer basket and place it on a cutting board. Cover it with foil and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute and give the meat a stronger juiciness.
- People often ask if they sould quickly pan fry the outside of the roast before air frying. That is not necessary because the air fryer automatically gives this roast a nice, crispy outside coating!
Storage and Reheating Instructions:
Leftover pork roast should be wrapped well and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
FAQS
Yes, you can, if you prefer, try onions, parsnips, or squash (cut into about 1 inch pieces).
What else could I use as a marinade?
A great substitute would be ¾ cup of pineapple (or lime or lemon) juice mixed with 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar. If you don’t have any juice, try mixing the brown sugar with apple cider vinegar, or white vinegar.
About 12-14 minutes per pound at 400 degrees F, plus about 10 minutes resting time before cutting.
The inside of the roast must heat to 145 degrees to be fully cooked through.

Is it necessary to have the foil pouch or is it convenient for easy clean up? I don’t want to use so much foil if it is not necessary
It’s not necessary per say but it allows the juices to stay around the meat and keep it tender as it cooks. 🙂
could you use a pork tenderloin?
Yes, definitely – pork tenderloin in the air fryer is incredible but the cook time will be much less. You just have to check it as you cook!
Love the video. You make this looks so easy and it is! Mine turned out delicious!!
